What influenced you to choose Prospa for your management service provider?
At the time I had sold a dairy farm and bought a property with an orchard on it, I needed to put someone in that knew what they were doing.
How well do you feel your orchard has performed under Prospa management?
I grow HW so it has ups and downs, but overall performance has been really good. My Manager has great communication, we review together and decide on the plan for the orchard. We have been through frosts, PsA, weather impacts and Prospa has been great in those challenges.
How would you describe the relationship you have with your Orchard Manager?
We have a great relationship; I can contact him whenever I want.
How much do you value the orchard performance reporting you receive from Prospa?
The reports are really useful. It’s great to know how my orchard is tracking compared to other growers in the region. The information is helpful, especially when I come from a background of not knowing kiwifruit well.
How effective do you feel your Orchard Manager is at producing the crop as cost efficiently as possible?
I think the budget management is done well, there is a fair bit of trust involved, and we appreciate the timing that things are done. Our Manager is conscious of costs and fights for us, working for us for the best result.
How well do you feel Prospa manages the Health & Safety and compliance requirements for your orchard?
All the compliance and Health & Safety is taken care of and done for us. It is good to know it is under control. We don’t want to hassle with all that. I just want to do the mulching then head off fishing. I have confidence to walk away from my property knowing it is in good hands, it is managed well and under control.
What do you like most about having Prospa manage your orchard?
There is no stress, everything is done well, and reported back to us. It is great knowing it is under control when we are not there, and we can go on holiday freely.
What advice would you have for anyone considering partnering with Prospa?
Prospa are miles above the industry OGR - the proof is in the pudding. I had a call from another orchard management company, and I said I wouldn’t consider it. I think Prospa are doing a great job.
